One day International seminar on International Human Rights Day on 10/12/2022

S.D. College Hoshiarpur and IQAC of the College organised a One Day International Seminar on International Human Rights Day . Advocate Vikrant Rana , State President of International Human Rights organisation was the chief guest and he delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the importance of Internet security. He gave tips on How to protect login passwords and how to beef up the security system of computers and mobile.

Prof in Deprtment of Economics , Central University Jammu was the key facilitator.

National Seminar on Income Tax Return on 26/05/2022

A National Seminar was Organised by PG Department of Commerce on the topic Income Tax Return. The Resource person were Mandeep Singh Parmar (Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, DCIT), Rajesh Thakur (ITO), Naval Kishore (Inspector) and Meher Chand (Inspector). Assistant Pro. Isha Tewari Welcomed Chief Spokesperson Radhe Shyam Jaswal. He briefed the participants about the tax and income tax process. He Gave detailed information. About 70 students participated in this seminar.

IT Literacy Workshop For Support Staff

Department of Computers organized IT Literacy workshop for support staff of college from 20/01/2020 to 05/02/2020. A total of 15 employees of the college learnt basics of computer such as MS -Word, Windows interface, organizing their works in folders, shortcuts and Ms-paint ,Internet basics such as internet surfing, creating new mailbox and basics of email such as composing mails, forwarding, replying etc. were told.

One Day National Workshop On Python Programming Language On 29/08/2019 By Computer Society

National workshop was organized to teach the basics of PYTHON programming language to the students of BCA. Mr. Nitin Chauhan (On-roll trainer) from DUCAT explained the following topics to students. He explained Simple program writing in Python, I/O Statements, Control Structures, Looping statements, Select Statement and Lists There was total 44 students of BCA I,II and III participated and learned useful programming skills.

Seminar on Career Counselling and Guidance

A Seminar on Career Counselling and Guidance was organised by Career counselling and placement cell on 25/05/2019. The seminar gave insights about how important it is for every student to remain aware of the various career opportunities available and the required qualification. The Seminar emphasised on the point that the students need to stay in touch with various newspapers, websites for the available work opportunities. 45 students were present in the seminar.

Workshop on Intellectual Property rights and Patent rights

The Institute invited renowned expert Mrs. Sangeeta Hadda for the workshop on “IPR and patent rights”. Mrs Nisha Arora and Mr. Keshav were conveners of this workshop. In the beginning the worthy Principal Dr. Nand Kishor welcomed the resource person Ms. Sangeeta Hadda. Firstly, there was an interactive session with all the Heads of the Department and Assistant Professors working in various research areas from 9.30 to 10.30 A.M. The session was conducted on 24/11/2018 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. It was very knowledgeable session. Dr. Nand Kishor congratulated the computer department for organizing such a great event..

National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Commerce and Management

A Oneday National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Commerce and Management” was held at S.D. College, Hoshiarpur on 31/10/2018 with the joint efforts of the Department of Commerce & Management. Mrs. Manjit Kaur was the convener of the seminar. Hon’ble President Mrs. Hema Sharma, Hon’ble Secretary Shri Shri Gopal Ji and worthy Principal Dr. Nand Kishor, inaugurated the seminar. The seminar provided an ideal forum for the interaction of ideas and information between academicians, professionals and practitioners in order to understand the emerging issues of commerce and Financial Management.50 delegates, importantly half of whom have been students of M.Com. And B.B.A, participated in this seminar. .

Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in Software

A workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights in Software” was organized by Department of Computers on 10/09/2018. Mrs. Nisha Arora was the Convener of this workshop. The speaker for the session was an erudite expert, Dr. Satish Kumar from Swami Sarwanand Giri, PU Regional Campus, Hoshiarpur,The objective of this workshop was to give knowledge about various laws that protect owners of IP, mostly in the form of patents, copyrights, and trademarks. He explained very lucidly the concept of Intellectual Property Rights. He highlighted the legal rights that provide creators protection for original work, invention, artistic work, scientific development and so on.Mr. Satish Kumar during his deliberation shared that IPR have to be renewed from time to time for keeping them enforced except in case of copyright and trade secrets. This workshop was highly informative. In shortthe workshop provided valuable awareness and insights on the various aspects of IPR. Principal Dr. Nand Kishor congratulated the Department for this highly successful event.

Workshop On Fabric And Block Painting

A one -day workshop on Fabric and Block Painting was organized by the Fashion Designing Department in the college under the guidance of Smt Hema Sharma ji and Secretary Shri Shri Gopal Sharma and Principal Dr. Nand Kishor at Sanatan Dharma College on 08/09/2018.Mrs. Manmeet Kaur acted as convener and key facilitator. 20 students from different classes participated in the workshop. The students were told about various methods of painting the fabric. She explained the process of applying color to fabric in definite patterns or designs. Mrs. Manjit Kaur, Dr. Monika, Dr.Palwinder Kaur, Ms. Monika Kanwar, and Mrs. Jyoti Bala were present on the occasion. Finally, Professor Manmeet Kaur thanked everyone.

One day Seminar on Emerging Trends in Information technology and its influence in various sectors was organised by Computer Society on 27/08/2018. The Resource person Dr. Rajiv Kapoor was welcomed by Principal Dr. Nand Kishor and Convener Mrs. Nisha Arora. The Seminar focused on the key concepts related to Robotics and the participants received a brief overview of the following topics: Types of Robots, their applications, laws of robotics, Key components, Types of sensors actuators and Controller hardware, Kinematics, Mechanics of Robots and some real life.Fundamentals of remote sensing, common platforms like ground based, airborne and satellites, working of satellites, electromagnetic spectrum. Total 50 participants were present in the seminar At the end, Mrs. Pooja gave the vote of thanks.

Workshop On Intellectual Property And Innovation In Economics

A One Day workshop on Intellectual property rights was organized by the Economics Department in the college on 24/08/2018 under the guidance of Smt Hema Sharma ji and Secretary Shri Shri Gopal Sharma and Principal Dr. Nand Kishor.
