The college is dedicated to foster a welcoming atmosphere that respects and celebrates diversity in terms of race, class, caste, faith, colour, and culture. In addition, the college is committed to upholding the principles of our constitution and safeguarding the rights of SC/ST students.
In order to create an environment where all students feel safe and with an objective to ensure the proper implementation of the policy of the Govt. of India as well as UGC for the benefit of SC/ST students, Sanatan Dharma College ,Hoshiarpur has established a committee for SC/ST Students Grievance..
OBJECTIVES
- To improve SC/ST/minority pupils' equal educational prospects.
- To inform students who identify as SC, ST, or Minority about the several scholarship initiatives offered by UGC and the State Government
- To receive written complaints from SC/ST teachers, officers, employees, and students, and direct them to the appropriate department, person, or section for peaceful resolution.
- To ensure the protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India for SC/ST students
- To promptly offer therapy for any emotional emergencies resulting from events that occur on campus.
ACTIVITIES
- To guarantee the SC/ST/Minority's protection and reservation in accordance with the Indian Constitution.
- To disseminate the decisions made by the UGC and State Government about various scholarship initiatives.
- To support SC/ST/Minority students with counselling, personality development, communication skills development, and classes that prepare them for professional and employment opportunities, among other things.
- To coordinate and address issues related to coaching conduct and other concerns in order to ensure that the educational system is successful in raising students to a level that is both numerically and qualitatively equal to that of the general population.
REDRESSAL MECHANISM
Committee works as per guidelines of Govt. and UGC . SC/ST students and employees are encouraged to approach the Coordinator of the Cell for the resolution of any grievances they may have related to academic, administrative, or social issues.
committee is open for receiving complaint from eligible candidate .
Any SC/ST candidate can give written complaint or can file a complaint though link activated under student support icon on college portal to the committee. Committee will discuss the matter with chairperson and also interact regularly with concerned student or staff to gain a thorough understanding of the problem and takes appropriate action, providing necessary advice and assistance to resolve the matter.
