Events in College

Sanatan Dharma College, hoshiarpur’s Computer society in collaboration with IQAC organized Cross Word IT Competition on 21/02/2023. 49 students from different streams participated in it. Ms Manvir Kaur BCA 6th sem got 1st position, Ms Beauty BCA 6th sem got 2nd position. The Objective of this Competition is to inculcate the creativity and zeal of competition among students and provided them an pportunity to evaluate their knowledge. Mrs Pooja, Assistant Professor in Computer Sc and application was incharge of this event. Mr Parshant Sethi , Officiating principal encouraged the students to actively participate in such events.Mrs Nisha Arora,Ms Amandeep Kaur were also made presence for the success of this event.

Science and environment club, red ribbon club and IQAC organised a blood grouping camp. The event was accomplished under the guidance of honorable president mrs. Hema sharma where around 80 students and teachers got their blood group checked.

Computer department organised 20 days workshop (17-jan-2023 to 7 feb-2023) for support staff . In the workshop, basic fundamentals were taught and practical Session were taken for applications such as ms paint, ms word.

Poster making competition on world cancer day was organised by science and environment club, red ribbon club and department of Fashion designing and Biotechnology.Mrs. Anu, Mrs. Monika kanwar, Mrs. Neha gill were the incharges for this event. It was organised to aware the people about the various carcinogenic elements in beverages and other materials.Students presented their posters and secured the position. 11 students participated in this event.

Post Graduate Department Of Commerce organized two days “10 Hours interactive financial education programme” on 1 & 2 Feb;2023. The programme was organized in collaboration with National Institute Of Securities Market & IQAC. Mr. Nagesh Kumar, company secretary acted as a resource person. He taught students about the relevance of financial education,financial investment opportunities, importance of investments on time,process of pre-requisites to investing in securities market and career & entrepreneurship opportunities in financial market. The event was coordinated by Ms. Manisha Thakur ,total 66 students of final year classes i.e. B.com, B.B.A , B.C.A & M.com enrolled for the same and 9 teachers participated in the event.

Science and Environmet club in collaboration with department of Biotechnology, Fashion Designing, Red Ribbon club and IQAC organised a Slogan Writing Competition on World Leprosy Eradication Day.Total 7 Students participated in this event.

A Slogan writing competition was organised by Red Ribbon club in collaboration with Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat on account of National Voters Day on 25th January 2023. Students made slogans on different themes of voters day.

The computer society organized one day workshop on hardware assembly. The objective was to familiarise the students with internal components of the PC.About 50 students of BCA and PGDCA participated in the workshop.

S.D. College Hoshiarpur and IQAC of the College organised a One Day International Seminar on International Human Rights Day . Advocate Vikrant Rana , State President of International Human Rights organisation was the chief guest and he delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the importance of Internet security. He gave tips on How to protect login passwords and how to beef up the security system of computers and mobile.

World Aids Day organized by red Ribbon Club and Environment Club in SD College, Hoshiarpur on 01/12/2022 under the guidance of Smt Hema Sharma(President, New SD College, Managing Committee).on this day, lecture delivered by officiating principal Mr Prashant Sethi and Dr Kanwardeep Dhariwal.

Parents teacher meeting organized by PTA on 29/11/2022 in which the parents and teachers communicated with each other regarding the academic performance of their pupils.

A one day visit on Orphanage and Leprosy centre under the guidance of Mrs Hema Sharma(President, New SD College, Hoshiarpur), Officiating principal Mr Prashant Sethi for the welfare of community.

One day Awareness Drive to apprise people of causes , symptoms and treatement of dengue was organised in Phadma Village by NSS and NCC unit of the college .Students made the people aware of this disease and also did sanitization .The team was lead by Mr. Gurcharan Singh amd Mrs. Dimple .

One Day Awareness rally under Vigilance Awareness week was organisd by NSS and NCC unit of the college .Students made the people aware of various laws against corruption.The team was lead by Mr. Gurcharan Singh and Mrs. Dimple .

Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated in college.Various prominent personalities were present in this seminar.Mr. Sandeep Hans(DC) Hoshiarpur ,Manpreet Singh Dhillon(DSP),Manish Kumar(DSP) made the people aware of various laws against corruption .

Mrs. Hema Sharma(President New SD College Management committe), Mr. Parshant Sethi(Principal)and the smily group consisting of NSS Students, NCC cadets and alumni of the college visited Old age home. Teachers also accompanied the students .

A seminar on the Punjab victim compensation scheme,2017, and NALSA and slogan writing competition on World students Day organised by the legal aid club in collaboration with Women cell of the college on 15-10-2022 under the guidance of Mrs Hema Sharma(President, New SD College, Hoshiarpur), Officiating principal Mr Prashant Sethi.

Under the able guidance of Mrs. Hema Sharma(President New SD College Management committe), Mr.Parshant Sethi and Cashier Sh. Parmod Shama SD College,Hoshiarpur in Collaboration with Nehru yuva Kendra Celebrated Yuva Mahotsava. Mr. Brahma Shankar Zimpa( Cabinet minister Punjab Govt) appreciated the festival and also encouraged the students to participate in cultural activitiies. .

An Exihibtion was organised in college campus by J.S.S. Ashakiran school wherein various handicrafts and decorative items were displayed by differently abled students.

On 7th October 2022, Sanatan Dharma College, Hoshiarpur and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Hoshiarpur conducted a cleanliness program under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan being run by the Government of India as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav in which college surroundings were cleaned by the students associated with NSS, NCC, Youth Services, Welfare and Culture Affairs and Red Ribbon Club.

PG department of commerce of SD college Hoshiarpur with collaboration of New Image International Beauty Institute organized a one day workshop on "SELF GROOMING" on 29-09-2022 at 12:00 pm. In this event, students got knowledge regarding makeup and how to groom ourselves. The speaker of this event was Mr Deepak Saini, Ms Sakshi, Ms Tanya resource person of NIIB. The convener of this workshop was Mrs. Manjit kaur and Ms Mehak.

PG department of commerce of SD college Hoshiarpur with collaboration of SEBI organized a one day FDP on Introduction of Mutual fund Investment on 29-09-2022. In this event, the faculty got knowledge regarding mutual funds and how to invest in this market and also discussed the safest investment in the stock market. The speaker of this event was Ms. Anita Saini from SEBI.

A Decmaration Competition was organised by Department of Management on 21st sept ,2022.The competition was very well organised by Harjyot Kaur ,Anshul thakur, Sukhwinder kaur ,Aryan, Kajal, jetandeep ,Tisha Garg and Parminder Singh of BBA III II I.First position was bagged by simran pathania BBA 1 St year, Second position by suhani Sharma , Third position by Bavleen and consolation prize was given to kajal. Mrs.Dimple assistant professor in commerce,Dr.palwinder Kaur assistant professor in economics,Mrs.Amandeep Kaur assistant professor in computer application Dr.Gurcharan Singh assistant professor in department of Punjabi were the judges of the competition.Officiating principal Mr. Parshant Sethi encouraged the students and apreciated the event.

NSS and NCC Unit of S.D. College Hoshiarpur participated in swachhta rally with great enthusiasm organised by Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur under the swachhta campaign. Participants were honoured with certificates and T shirts.

E- Vista(Best out of waste) was Organised by Computer Society on 17th September. Students from BCA classes participated in this event . Secretary Shri Shri Gopal Ji( New SD College Management Committee ) and Mr. Parmod Sharma were the chief Guests .Mr. Prshant Sethi (Officiating Principal )encouraged the students and . Mrs. Nisha Arora, Mrs. Pooja , Mrs. Amandeep Kaur , Mr. Keshav , ms. Rampy were also present.

Hindi day was celebrated Hindi club in collaboration with NSS club and Language& Literary club .On this occassion Mr. Parshant Sethi(officiatiing principal) and Mr. SPS Kang were chief guests . Around 53 students were present in this event. Ms. Krishma delivered a vote of thanks at the end of this event.

Talent Hunt was Organised by Youth Services , Welfare & Cultural Affairs Society in the College Campus .Students from various classes participated in various Cultural items . President Mrs. Hema Sharma , Secretary Shri Shri Gopal Ji( New SD College Management Committee ) encouraged the students.

PG department of commerce of SD college Hoshiarpur with collaboration of NCDEX IPF trust organized one day workshop on Understanding the commodity derivative market .In this event, student got the knowledge Regarding derivative market and how to invest in this market .the speaker of this event was Ms. Anita saini resource person from SEBI. Student received E-certificate for participation in workshop . The convenor of this workshop was Mrs. Manjit kaur and Mrs. Manpreet kaur. Mr. Parshant sethi , Mrs. Dimple, Mrs. Jyoti , Ms. Harjyot kaur, Ms.Neha , Dr. Sachin kumar , Mr. Jagtar singh , Mr. Paramvir singh , Mr.Sourav , Mrs. Cheasta also made presence for success of this event.

Students of NCC Unit of Sanatan Dharma College, Hoshiarpur, Participated in Annual training camp. The team was led by ANO Lt. Dimple . Students bagged 15 medals in various actitivites for their tremndous job.

Red Ribbon Club and Ek Bharat Sreshta Bharat Club of Sanatan Dharma College, Hoshiarpur,in association with Department of History, Environment Club organized a One day Seminar on the eve of National youth day in the college campus. 6 teams of 18 Students participated in the quiz.

A lecture on Sports Day was organised by Department Of Physical Education of Sanatan Dharma College, Hoshiarpur, on the Birthday of Major Dhyan Chand in the college Campus. ASI Jagdish Kumar (Incharge Purhiran Chowki) Shared his views with young Students and encouraged them to take partication in Games .

Collegiate Pandit Amirt Anand Memorial Senior Secondary School organized a One day Seminar on the eve of National youth day in the college campus.

The Legal Aid Club organised a seminar on the topic " Run away couples and free legal aid services.The Students of BBA , BCA ans BA attended the Seminar. Total 47 Students were Present in this seminar. Advocate Harwinder singh was the Resource Person.

Sanatan Dharma College, Hoshiarpur, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’, North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) in association with NSS Unit, NCC Unit, Youth Services, Welfare and Cultural Affairs, Red Ribbon Club of the college and S.D. Collegiate Pandit Amirt Anand Memorial Senior Secondary School Principal Dr. Radhika Ratan organized a Cultural Programme in the college campus..

On the Occassion of 75th Independence Day , Flag Hoisting was organised in college Campus of SD College Hoshiarpur . Sh. Shri Gopal ji, Secretary, New SD College Management Committee , Sh. Chattar Bhushan Joshi , Vice President , New SD College Management Committee,Mr. Parmod Sharma, Cashier, New SD College Management Committee an Dr Nand Kishor, Principal, S.D. College Hoshiarpur and all the Staff members hoisted the National flag. A Cultural program was Organised in the college campus.
