Since the inception of college i.e. 1973, Library is catering Information need of users. It is playing a crucial role in inculcating reading habits amongst students. Library’s collection includes books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, CDs, DVDs, e-journals, e-books, databases, etc. It conducts User Orientation Programmes every year to make familiar its new entrants with library services and facilities to improve the usage of library collection. Library acquires new books from reputed publishers to keep its collection updated every year.

Library Advisory Committee: Rules And Regulations

Since the library has to cater to the needs of variety of clientele such as faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students as well as non-teaching staff, a wider range of subject fields are to be represents in our book stock with prime thrust for meeting the needs of the students and faculty members. Beside this, for smooth functioning of the library and safe guarding the interest of all sections of the library users, formation of policies in a judicious manner, an infrastructure is needed for the library. To meet all the above objectives the library is advised by the Library Advisory Committee with the following representatives.

CONSTITUTION AND FUNCTIONS

The committee shall consist of the following:
  1. Librarian
  2. Five senior Faculty members from different departments

THE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE ARE AS UNDER:

  1. To look into day to day problems of the library clientele, library staff and send recommendations to the Principal and Management for desired decision.
  2. To consider and put forward the views of faculty members regarding books/journals selection, ordering process etc.
  3. To consider and put forward the views of students regarding their problems and solutions sought thereof.

THE LIBRARY IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR SECTIONS

  1. General Books, Arts, Commerce section
  2. Reading Room having seating capacity of 100 persons and latest magazines and newspapers are also displayed there.

GENERAL RULES

Maintain silence inside the library. Discussion is not permitted.
Use of cellular phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
No personal belongings allowed inside the Library.
Enter your names and sign in the register kept at the entrance before entering library.
Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter
The librarian may recall any book from member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
Students are allowed to library only on production of their valid Identity–Cards.
Development of Quality Culture in the institution;
Preparation of the Arameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
CIRCULATION RULES
Books will be issued on presentation of the library card along with Identify card.
Student are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage.
Books can be retained for a period of 14 days.
Reference books can be issued and kept overnight.
Each student shall obtain ‘No Dues Certificate’ from the library after returning all the books issued, and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
